Overview
Trinity Lodge is a beautifully renovated Victorian home in the peaceful country town of Darling, only 45 minutes from Cape Town. The Lodge offers seven double en-suite bedrooms, each tastefully furnished with hand embroidered linen and goose-down duvets.

We have a restaurant on the historic Grootepost Wine Farm open for lunch from Wednesday to Sunday.

Darling itself is a jewel. World famous for its spring flowers, it hosts an annual flower show and houses the largest orchid nursery in the Southern Hemisphere. It is surrounded by magnificent vineyards in and around the Darling Hills producing some of the finest wines in South Africa and there are a number of cellars to visit for tastings. Darling is also a mecca for local artists including Pieter Dirk Uys' famous 'Evita se Perron'.

There is a magnificent beach at Yserfontein nearby with stunning sunsets, birding at the nearby West Coast National Park including sightings of the rare Hudsonian and Black-tailed Godwits, Broad-billed Sandpiper and Dunlin. There is also a Fossil Park about 30 km from the Lodge for those interested in ancient environments.

"Trinity weekend"
29 Apr 2015

"The bed was comfortable and the water was hot. The little mirror on the table in our room was covered in a layer of dust , the bathroom blind was dirty with a layer of dust on the top. The brass knobs on the bed were loose and there was a cable tie holding part of the bed together. Our coffee cups were removed for washing and not returned, neither was our coffee replenished.. my husband went to find some in the kitchen. The saving grace of this establishment was a very helpful lady named Martha. We were disappointed and will not stay there again"

"Thank you for a peaceful haven for the weekend, we absolutely loved our stay in Darling. Martha showed us around the beautiful 'madala house' and Debbie shared some special tips on things to do and see around town. The garden at the lodge was beautiful in Autumn glory, perfect for some creativity with our cameras. Thank you to everyone at Trinity for a fun and restful stay!"

"This was a real treat. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, and the staff very friendly. The room was small but comfortable, and the breakfast divine. We met the host, Shaun McLaughlin, again at Groote Post Wine Estate outside Darling, where his restaurant, Hilda's Kitchen, is situated in the old manor house. Well worth a visit. We'll return to both!"

"The Guesthouse is just lovely, beautifully furnished, and the caretaker was really helpful.Sadly the kettle did not work and the lighting in the room is quite odd, so you cannot successfully read in bed. It was freezing, so another blanket could have been useful (the cotton one in the cupboard was really light) But otherwise, a good stay in a special little spot"
