Overview
Nestled in the Central Drakensberg with spectacular views overlooking the Bell Park Dam to the Champagne Castle range is a perfect location for a peaceful, country get-away. Treks, Trips and Trails consists of two stand-alone self-catering units scattered on a 50 acre smallholding adjoining the Bell Park Dam.Bahati Tree Lodge, an upmarket tree house for a romantic get-away for two people. Another couple can be accommodated in a second room downstairs with walk-in shower but no children under 10. The views from this cabin are magnificent.Bergvlei Garden Cottage, a secure six sleeper unit closer to the main house but with privacy in its own garden ha magnificent views from the deck in the garden. Treks, Trips and Trails has a beautiful rock pool for swimming, access to the dam for bass fishing and short walks from the various cottages. It is also within easy reach of several restaurants, hotels, supermarkets and more and of course some beautiful hiking trails and walks in our magnificent mountains with numerous other activities such as horse riding either in the mountains or in the game park, battlefield routes, golf, river rafting (water permitting), karting, a canopy tour, falconry, bird watching, local arts and crafts etc. so no shortage of things to do.

"My mom and I had an absolutely magical time at this gem of the Drakensberg. I was not sure what to expect, but we were both blown away. The management and staff are great, the view spectacular, and the accommodation was something out of a dream. We were planning our next visit before we even left. A definite MUST for anyone seeking relaxation and/or adventure."

"We have spent our honeymoon at the Bahati tree lodge, and there certainly is no place on earth as remote, tranquil and magical. Bahati is tastefully decorated and equipped with all the necessities you might possibly need for a luxurious yet close to nature self-catering getaway. Nothing beats breakfast on the deck overlooking the dam and the mountains, or an icy amarula after a long hike, with an epic thunderstorm rolling over the hills. Pine trees not only surround Bahati (keeping the view clear at all times), but also grow right through it in wonderful glass cages - it is fascinating to watch the trees sway when the wind is strong! We loved it, and we'll be back."

"What a lovely place and a good break away from the city. We didn't get to go on the trails as there we're so many activities close by. The views from the tree house were nothing short of breathtaking. The house was clean and very neat. The house was also well equipped with everything you could need. I will definitely make use of Treks, Trips and Trails the next time I'm in the Drakensberg."

"Magda took care of us and provided us with everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing weekend away from the city.After the sky cleared up from the morning rain we embarked on a 15km hike around the property. The lush vegetation and occasional cows provided the perfect scenery for a quiet walk over a small river and past the dam. We returned to our cabin, feeling hot and tired, to savour the cool water of the rock pool. Having cooled off sufficiently, we spent the rest of the evening in front of a warm fire in the privacy of our cabin.Highly recommended, and we will definitely visit again!"
