Imagine sitting above a 30-metre waterfall, with breath-taking views of a river gorge and the wild Indian Ocean. This is the setting of The Fernery Lodge. It is hard to decide whether to admire the incredible surroundings from the Lodge's deck area with jacuzzi and sauna, or to enjoy it from any one of the six deluxe suites.
Each suite is tastefully decorated and every effort has been made to ensure our guests' comfort, from en-suite bathrooms, flat-screen TV with limited DSTV bouquet, to a private deck with beautiful views. At the end of a tough day relaxing, guests can wander through our wine cellar and select a bottle of wine before making their way to the dining room with its special ambiance, for excellent cuisine.
The Chalets are beautiful and secluded. Experience the Tsitsikmma as if you were the first to discover it. The chalets are B&B based, each beautifully appointed and privately located, so you can enjoy a peaceful paradise experience. Relax in nature and treat your soul to views of mystical waterfalls, rock pools and the vast Indian Ocean.
The B&B chalets sleep two in either twin or king size luxury, whereas the family chalets sleep four and have fully equipped kitchenettes, making them ideal for families - or choose one of the plush twin chalets (ideal for two couples) which offer en-suite bathrooms and private lounges, fully equipped kitchen and a private plunge pool on the deck. All the chalets are beautifully decorated and each chalet has a unique theme inspired by its magnificent surroundings.
Enjoy the tranquility of the mountains and forests from the privacy of the sheltered deck or curl up in front of the cosy ceramic fireplace with a good book. End the evening with a barbecue on your deck - simply arrange beforehand and you will be provided with everything from the ingredients to the Weber. Facilities: swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna is at the guests disposal. A large Jacuzzi, perched on the edge of the river gorge, is a favorite with our guests, and can be enjoyed with a bottle of wine or champagne.

"We loved everything about our visit from the friendly staff, Jacuzzi, breakfast with magnificent views and the fynbos. Our chalet was a delight with a huge bed, kitchenette, tv area and a bathroom with a bath and two showers and towel warmer. The Fernery had a very relaxing effect on us and we will definitely be back."

"We really enjoyed our time away here. The chalets are great, bathrooms amazing with views... champagne bathtub ocean-view setting. They have thought of everything. There's even a bird hide overlooking a little lake where there are boats that you can paddle out in. The dining area is a bit staid and dry and could use a bit of a chipper to hack out the ice. Otherwise a great break and will certainly go back."
