Serenity @ Harties is a lovely self-catering guest house with an oriental theme, ideally located in Kosmos, Hartbeespoort Dam. Kosmos is a gorgeous and secure little village situated on the banks of the popular Hartbeespoort Dam, a mere 40-minute drive from Johannesburg. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy in Kosmos, including a zoo and a snake park, a cable car, and numerous restaurants.
Serenity @ Harties provides guests with a memorable experience and is an ideal breakaway location. The guest house can accommodate up to ten guests and comprises five bedrooms, a lounge, a kitchen and a dining area. The bedrooms each have their own individual look and feel, and each room features an en-suite bathroom.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and includes a stove and an oven, a fridge-freezer, a microwave, a kettle, and a toaster. The house also offers braai facilities, and there is a boat house for guests who need space for a boat.
The honeymoon suite unit can accommodate up to four guests and comprises a three-level unit with a main bedroom loft overlooking the dam, a spectacular view of the dam from the main bed, treat your partner to a special experience. The unit also has a lounge, a kitchen, and on the lower third level, an open-plan bathroom and second bedroom.
Serenity is the perfect place to relax and unwind, and we are committed to offering our guests and neighbors a peaceful time with us and unfortunately the playing of music is not allowed. Day visitors are welcome as long as this is pre-approved and there may be no more than eight people on the property at one time.
Please note that minimum amount of guests that Serenity @ Harties caters for is six. There is a boat service available, please inquire.

"The place was dirty. The showers a total disaster. The water was either excessive hot or cold...nothing in between. The towels did not smell nice. The braai outside was a mess. We had to buy one to use. The bedding was old and washed out. Some not even clean. I won't recommend it to anybody."

"The view was awesome but the facility very disappointing, with leaking kitchen pipes, broken toilet flush and inadequate cutlery/ crockery for self catering made it very challenging for us to enjoy the stay. Only a few plugs were working. The place was also not clean. We departed a day earlier than planned."

"It had a lovely view of the dam but not worth the money I paid for the weekend. I booked for 10 people as the has offered 5 bedrooms. When entering the house had a closed up smell as though it has not been used in a while. The furniture was old. The one bedroom stank and it was not possible for anyone to sleep in. The cups, plates and dishes were all cracked and chipped. Dishcloths filthy and old. Kitchen had bugs in it. The fridge was not on when we arrived nor the geyser for hot water. The beds were not clean. The rooms all had a damp smell and there was no privacy in the bathrooms. The ceiling fans made a terrible noise. The floor in the house was sticky in places.The garden was full of bottle tops and cigarette butts. We also battled to find someone to open the house for us. I was told to phone which we did at about 1pm and my call was only returned after 5pm. Definitely not relaxing. Will not recommend this house to anyone."

"Had an amazing stay in the cottage for a weekend away. The view of the dam is spectacular and you have everything you need to break away and unwind.
