Overview
Selous Bush Camp in Mankwe Private Game Reserve is an exclusive tented safari camp, located close to the malaria-free Pilanesberg National Park and Sun City.

All tents are en-suite and we offer game drives and bush walks. For Big 5 game viewing, we offer game drives in the Pilanesberg National Park. We also offer conferencing and wedding facilities.

The property is home to around 2000 species of wild game including eland, white rhino, giraffe, and large herds of impala, wildebeest and zebra, as well as many other interesting and rare species of game. Nocturnal animals include aardvark, brown hyena, civet, genet, leopard and honey badger.

The camp is situated a mere 150 km from Johannesburg, 6 km from the Manyane Gate in the Pilanesburg National Park, 20 km from Sun City and 10 km from Pilanesburg International Airport.

"Adventure in the bush"
10 Feb 2014

"This camp has seen its better days. Communication between Management and the camp is terrible. Camp staff worked hard to get what we had been promised through booking agent. In the end there was only one activity for the 3 days we stayed as we had been told we would have 3. Very limited drink selection including water?Time in the bush was relaxing and make certain you are aware that it is a "Green" Camp with no electricity."
"Great stay"

"Our stay at Selous Bush Camp was very nice and relaxing. The staff were very friendly and the food was great. We were disappointed that there is no swimming pool. Due to heat a swimming pool would have been nice. Other than this it was great."
"A visit to remember"

"A truly amazing place in the African bush. The tents were very comfortable and had everything we needed. We were treated like royalty and were totally spoilt by Amos and the team. the game drives were fantastic and Amos's knowledge was wonderful. Only 1 complaint - the giraffes only visited the camp after we left. ( well not really a complaint!!)"
"Enjoyed the stay very much"

"The service at the camp was great as well as the hole experience. The only thing that I would recomend is a swimming pool. It is very hot and that gives you something to do if you only want to spend the day at the camp. Other than that is was great. Nice and quiet and calming."
"Good intentions but a long way to become an "exclusive" camp"

"Although the camp only opened in 2010 the tents need serious maintenance. Our carpet was dirty, some zips are broken, the toilet flush mechanism does not work and the plumbing is installed user-unfriendly. Towel rails/hooks are also not installed. There is only one small bedside table in the tent, so a small couch/chair and coffee table would help to place your items. A small gas bar fridge would also help. The mattresses are cheap poor quality foam and make you really feel the safari stretcher. Coffee facilities are not in the tent but staff can serve coffee in the morning at any time desired. Electricity is only available in the form of generator and inverter. A swimming pool (not the current little plastic pond) would make a difference. The food is average and a small wine list should be available for the more discerning guests. Otherwise we had a wonderful relaxing weekend, which is certainly possible at Selous. A few minor improvements would even make this an "exclusive" bush camp. Then the price would be justified."
