Overview
Our Guest Lodge is set in a beautiful indigenous African garden, with a small forest and the Berg River. We have double storey thatched cottages set in a beautiful park garden on the river.

This is the perfect base from which to visit our game parks, world heritage caves, cheetah breeding parks, elephant sanctuary and for hot-air balloon trips.

Picnic lunches can be arranged for you. We also offer an enchanting forest spa which gives wonderful African stone therapy massages which will leave you refreshed and relaxed.

We are only one hour drive away from OR Tambo International Airport. Please note we are not pet or child friendly.
We would love to host you and help you to make your stay in Africa the best trip ever.

"The attentive staff and their friendliness and graciousness"

"We loved the quirkiness and artistic features. The French village was lovely but just a bit too narrow and smokey for the dinner on the Saturday evening. We did not like the first accommodation room that we looked at in the French Village - with the tin bath shower. We chose the Dolls House which was lovely. The food was good but for my taste too much pastry on offer - my pastry in the chicken pie was not properly cooked. Our massages were great - my feet were very cold throughout though. Overall a lovely weekend though - thank you."
"Unique Accommodation and Fantastic Staff"

"Really enjoyed our stay. Loved the unique thatched cottages with their vintage style. Felt like being back in time. Staff were fantastic - Especially Tembani, with his smile to brighten anyone's day. River setting is very pretty and relaxing. Only negatives would be that the establishment is quite close to the road so you can hear traffic (thankfully not all the time) and there was a little bit of litter around the river which needs to be cleaned up"

"Worst experience of my life!!!!"

"Marquette and whoever owns this place are liars! We stayed in the 'Sunflower suite' this is no suite! It was filthy, filled with spider webs, dirty teaspoons, cups, the works! If I am paying R2500 for a 2 night stay, I expect to find bottled water in the room, not water from the river or toilet in jug covered in a doily! How disgusting! This place is advertised as to having a pool for visitors to use, the pool is some make shift spa tub that is dirty and looks like it has not worked in 3 years! The so called spa is also a lie, it is a wooden shack! The breakfast served at the river was going to be an amazing experience, if the food was good. On our last night, it rained, the roof was leaking, we woke up on a soaked bed! That Marquette person has no clue on how to treat customers- on our arrival, she rudely me told me if I was not happy, I should ask for my deposit back!! One good thing about this place is that the concierge is a lovely man. He is dedicated to making the stay pleasant for visitors, it is such a pity he works under these circumstance where every second guest is upset with him and not Margueritte!!! I am determined to spread the word about this place! It should be shut down! I am also investigating how to take further action against this place!!!!"
"Maintenance"

"I had not expected so much traffic noise that I was unable to sleep on the first night. The cottage very rustic - could do with some maintenance.Loved the breakfast by the river and the recommended visit to Goblin's Cove restaurant made our stay. Not the best suited for kids - no activities but happy that they accommodated us."
