"Very nice and private"

"The place is very nice and private. We had some trouble with the hot water, but it was quickly sorted out by 'paul'. It is situated right on the river and allows for excellent kayaking. This is a lovely place to re-charge the old batteries! Thanks Ivan and staff. Three cheers."

"I paid a deposit to stay at the camp on the 6th of December 2012. We arrived at the site, and I must say I was disappointed. First the road leading to the tented camp was not maintained properly. I would suggest you grade the road as suited for a 4X4. I should have just not entered, but with good faith went on toward the tented camp. The result, my car scratched at the back side, damage valued at least R4000.00. At some point my car got stuck on a hump created to direct storm water. The pictures in your advertisement need to be updated. The tents are definitely not in the same shape as reflected on your advertisement. We did not stay for the night and later I requested for a refund of the deposit, but got no response from the owner."

"Tents all overlook the beautiful orange river. Fog, asleep to the sound of the flowing river. Rooms are well equipped."

"We stayed only one night on our way to the coast. Was pleasantly surprised, well equipped and clean tents with a very friendly host. We will stay for longer next time!"

"We enjoyed our stay. It is the second time and one cannot find a more quiet and peaceful overnight venue. Perhaps note the gravel road is tough for a non off-road car."

"River House"

"We had to change our booking at very short notice and really appreciated Ivan Sinclair's efforts to accommodate us elsewhere. The River House has a beautiful location and worth the longish drive for the view of the river at sunset."
"Family break"

"Lovely setup with privacy, great braai facilities and awesome views overlooking the river. Nice options for walks and a level of being with nature. Very comfortable. We had two children of 17 months and three years old and the balcony had wires attached reducing the chance of children being able to climb through. Some tents didn't have this barrier, so make sure you ask if this is a factor. We only only stayed the one night but would advise to stay longer than that."
