Mount Eden Guest House is a haven for the discerning traveller. In the leafy suburb of Zwaanswyk, in the Constantia valley, the area offers a wide variety of attractions and activities. Situated only 30 minutes away from the city centre of Cape Town (recently ranked by the Mercer World Wide Quality of Living survey as the Best City to live in compared to any other city in Africa and the Middle East), Mount Eden exudes the peace and tranquillity of its rural setting.
Nestled in a quiet cul de sac on the mountain slopes below Elephants Eye, the guest house stands on one acre of land neighbouring the Tokai forest and with a panoramic view of False Bay and the Hottentots Holland mountains in the distance.
The mountain range forms part of the Table Mountain National Park, which extends from Cape Town through to Cape Point. Silvermine nature reserve, renowned for its fynbos which is unique to the Cape floral kingdom, borders onto Zwaanswyk.
Close to the Constantia wine route, the guest house is surrounded by award winning Cape wine farms, notably Steenberg, Buitenverwachting and Uitsig. For the gourmet diner, the area boasts some of the finest restaurants in Cape Town, if not South Africa, notably La Colombe, Catharinas and Buitenverwachting. Scenic Ou Kaapse Weg, the mountain pass which links the area with Noordhoek and Chapmans Peak, is a few minutes away. Trendy Kalk Bay, with its antique shops and popular sea facing restaurants, is an easy 10 minute drive along the main coastal road.
Mount Eden is an exclusive, luxury guest house with limited, yet spacious accommodation. Three generously proportioned, themed suites are available on a bed and breakfast rate. The two main suites are fully air conditioned (heating and cooling) and also have ceiling fans. All bathrooms have shower and bath. Each suite has a fully stocked bar fridge (for own account) with tea and coffee making facilities, as well as a safe to store valuables. A swimming pool and jacuzzi are available to our guests. DSTV and a wi fi internet connection are available throughout the house. There is a small study, which can be used as an office, with printing and faxing facilities available. The main office is occupied from 8am to 5pm weekdays.
The owners have an interest in a game farm within a wildlife Conservancy in the Limpopo Valley, between Musina and the Kruger National Park. They have travelled extensively within SA and neighbouring countries and will be happy to assist you with advice and bookings regarding destinations within SA and outside its borders.
