"Great views"
03 Nov 2020
By Daniela Bonino
"Great location, breathtaking views (make sure you book a chalet with a view) the central block with reception restaurant TV room was well maintained, one of the pools was under maintenance but the other one was ok and had great views, helpful staff. The chalet was well sized and nicely furnished, except the kitchen area. Very little cutlery and utensils, you would expect at least 4 of each but there were very few things. Also, it's listed as self catering but it only has a microwave and a small braai outside so you can't really cook (no stove or hotplate). Went to the restaurant only for breakfast (that was ok) so can't comment on that."

"Misty Mountain chalet in Sabie"

"Loved: views from property, supply of wood for fireplace inside chalet, decent breakfast included, common lounge and games area and the very friendly and helpful staff. They offered numerous activities but can't speak on them as we didn't use any.Needs improvement: checkin/booking service, cleanliness of bathroom and kitchenette/crockery, upkeep of children's playground equipment. TV not available in individual rooms. The property was too close to the main road, so we heard mainly traffic noise and didn't get to enjoy the wonderful views and serenity which is expected from a weekend getaway in Mpumalanga. This property is best for short stays by passing travelers. It is family friendly and a decent no fuss place."

"We stayed over at Misty Mountain just for one night. The personnel were very helpful, friendly and true ambassadors of this beautiful setting in the mountains. Do yourself a favour and pick your stay carefully. The soft rain and mist added to the romantic atmosphere and perfect accommodation. We wished the stay could have been longer."
