Likweti is the SiSwati word for morning star, which symbolises new beginnings. The property includes a four-star lodge and an estate that is in the first phase of development. So whether you are looking for a brief getaway or a long-term escape from city life, we have the perfect retreat for you.
This 2 000-hectare unique Lowveld paradise is located a mere 10 minutes drive from the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA), just 11 minutes from White River and only 20 minutes from Nelspruit. Nearby attractions include the world famous Kruger National Park, Blyde River Canyon and even the sunny beaches of Mozambique. Swaziland, the smallest country in the Southern hemisphere, is also within reach.
Likweti lies both above and below the mist belts of the distant Swazi mountain escarpment in Mpumalanga, South Africa. Giraffe, nyala and warthog families wander freely on the property. Bird life abounds, with over 300 species calling the reserve home a birdwatchers paradise. Feathered residents include the elusive African Finfoot. Nocturnal sightings of bush baby, porcupine, serval and genet complete this tranquil bush experience.
Our two Luxury Suites built at either end of the lodge ensure absolute privacy and indulgence. The views from the heated plunge pools and outdoor showers simply go on forever! The open plan bathroom with its indoor jet stream shower makes it difficult to decide between showering or relaxing in the over-sized oval shaped tub both large enough for two! The decadent king size bed, complete with 100% cotton linen, just begs to have time spent in it. But the separate lounge, with gas fireplace to keep the chill at bay or simply set the mood for a romantic evening, vies for competition.
The eight Executive Rooms each comprise a spacious en-suite bedroom and a small lounge area. The large wooden decks with comfy loungers are perfect for bird-watching or for simply enjoying the view of the surrounding bush and distant Swazi mountains. They also include private outdoor showers that make refreshing on a warm summers day a sensory feast. Sleeper couches are available on request for the younger guests who cannot be alone.
We offer a choice of three different outdoor wedding ceremony venues: under the Wild Fig Tree, on the banks of the magnificent Fish Eagle Dam or Top Dam adjacent to the Pezulu Reception room. Our thatch roof reception room has fold-away glass doors that allow the breathtaking views to form part of the dcor. A myriad of photo opportunities at Likweti Lodge will evoke all the special memories of your wedding day for years to come.
Likweti Lodge offers a conference and team building environment that is definitely not the run of the mill. The reserve will set the tone for the day ahead, ensuring that delegates begin their session relaxed yet invigorated at being in such a splendid, malaria-free bush environment. The thatched Pezulu Room is enclosed by fold-away glass doors, leading off to a wooden deck. This offers delegates a panoramic view of the reserve during break times. The deck is the ideal location for tea and coffee breaks and lunch is often served under the trees next to the pool, weather permitting. Special dietary requirements, including Kosher and Halaal meals, can be accommodated by prior arrangement.
