Joe's Place was originally the dairy and cow shed and has been converted into four self-catering units, each sleeping two guests, with a communal veranda with beautiful views.

Guests in Jocks Cottage may trout fish in the farm dam and guests in Joe's Place can fish in the Dullstroom Dam, which is 500 m from their doorstep. Other activities that may be enjoyed on the farm include mountain biking, hiking, bird-watching or a leisurely walk into the village.

"Peasant stay, but a little maintenance needed"

"If one is looking to escape completely and be engulfed in seclusion this is the spot for you. What isn't stated in the description of venue is that Jocks Cottage is situated up a rocky hill and it would be advised that you take a car that can handle a rocky incline up to the unit. Upon arrive at the cottage ensure that you have direction on the use of the alarm system, we were not given instructions and could not get the alarm to stop, however we were attended to by the tactical response vehicle where we explained the situation and had to request another remote to switch the alarm off due to the battery being flat. The unit is clean and very well equipped from a kitchen point of view. Maintenance of the light bulbs around the braai area had not been attended to so we had to switch around light bulbs in order to have light while braai-ing. The cottage is equipped with two bathrooms, however the shower in the main bedroom/double bedroom downstairs did not work at all. On our last day we had no water at all. The above aside, the cottage comes equipped with a lovely fireplace and abundance off wood making the evenings lovely and cosy! The towels were fresh fluffy and the bedding crisp and clean."

"We loved everything. Our cottage was serviced daily and everything was clean and in order on our return. All utensils, crockery and just about everything else one would require are provided. Rates are very reasonable. Jocks is and always will be our first choice in Dullstroom.Would recommend this destination to anyone wanting a peaceful break from city life (like us), or even an overnight stop. Perfect."

"This beautiful cottage is perfectly situated. Close enough to all that Dullies has to offer and far enough to give you the sense of being in the countryside. We stayed in Joe's # 2, although the cottages are situated next to each other there is complete privacy. The cottage is fully self-catering, with everything one would require for such a stay, catered for. The linen is crisp clean, with enough bedding/blankets to keep the cold out. The fireplace is fully stocked with wood. The room was equipped with sweets and biscuits (for purchase). Over-all a fantastic experience, the views of the rolling hills and grassy meadows make for a super relaxing weekend!"

"Had a really great time. Cottage was neat and clean. Enjoyed the horses and cows. Beautiful setting far enough away from town that you feel you are staying in the farmlands, but easily close enough to town."
