Izintaba Game Farm is the perfect family holiday destination, welcoming children of all ages and offering guests the freedom to enjoy the bush at their own pace either walking, mountain biking, fishing, birding or doing a game drive on our 1200ha game reserve. Leave the city stress behind you and come and enjoy true peace and tranquillity in the Malaria free Waterberg bush.

The area is blessed with a temperate climate all year round and is malaria free. Leave your cell phone, TV and city stress behind you and come and enjoy true peace in the bush veld. At Izintaba we believe that a stay in the bush can be enjoyed in style and comfort. The thatched chalets are luxuriously furnished, very comfortable and overlook typical Waterberg bush veld. At the end of the day guests can relax on their patio and anticipate the magnificent sunset, make a wood fire in their private lapa, watch the incredible night sky and savour the heady scents and wild night sounds of the bush veld. The swimming pool, set amongst large boulders, is very welcome after a long bush walk or on a hot summers day.

Izintaba offers a wide range of habitats and scenery, which in turn supports a huge diversity of animals. Over 40 mammal species can be found on the property, from giraffe and brown hyaena, to aardvark and bush-babies. Over 200 bird species have been recorded in the area, as well as interesting reptiles and innumerable species of insects. Izintaba boasts a perennial stream, which leads to a dam and a wetland that attracts a variety of water birds, wide open Savannah plains where game is easily viewed, dense bush and rocky outcrops. A densely vegetated horseshoe ridge looks out onto an endless vista of mountains and valleys with no sign of civilization. It is down this ridge that a number of rocky ledges and beautiful seasonal waterfalls can be found.

"I love this this place and I'm definitely coming back. We stayed at the Kudu lodge and the place is beautiful, clean, well provided for in terms of crockery & cutlery. Nikki and her family are very friendly and helpful. I can't wait to show my friends this establishment, we had a perfect weekend away..."
"Peace and quiet in the bush"

"We loved this little cottage, tucked away amongst the rocks and trees. Only the sounds of the bush broke the complete tranquility of this gem. Beautifully decorated and equipped for the romantic getaway we needed. At night we turned off all the lights to admire the heavens - what a spectacular sight. Being visited by the resident porcupine rustling past us was an extra treat. Andrew was very well informed and could answer any questions we put to him. Thank you so much Andrew and Nikki for making our tenth wedding anniversary a memorable one."
"A place to relax and enjoy the surroundings."

"We loved our four night stay at Duiker Cottage, Izintaba. You would never have known that it was 'off grid'. The road leading to Izintaba was a bit sandy and rutted in places but our Toyota Avanza coped fine. The place was easy to find and on a arrival we were pleasantly met by the owner and her cat. We drove to the cottage now in the dark and stopped several times for a nightjar who sat patiently as we got out of the car to have a closer look at him. Duiker cottage was far bigger than we expected and we really loved the look and feel of the place. We booked two breakfasts and two dinners, they were all fantastic and it did help as we were the only two there. The dinning area has a large fire pit and neatly positioned so you have a lovely view of the moon. At the end of lunch the chef - Anna, checked we were ok to turn the lights off and smother the fire and we were then left to chat and dream about staying in Africa for ever while listening to some quiet African music and the sounds of the night. Our few days here we spent walking around looking at birds and trying to spot mammals before they spotted us. We enjoyed a sunset drink on the sunset platform with giraffes a few metres away from us at eye height...stunning. Duiker is also situated close to a small waterhole where lots of animals and birds enjoyed a drink from and we either sat a small distance away on seats or in our car and waited to see what arrived. We didn't spot any night time creatures unfortunately but we also didn't really try very hard, the bed was too cosy to resist. For a lovely relaxing stay at a super price I would highly recommend it."

"Whilst we may have had some confusion over the unit that was booked we ended up staying in the Giraffe cottage (and not the Lodge). It still accommodated all of us comfortably and the 5 kids had an absolute ball just doing nothing and exploring the surrounding bushveld. We especially enjoyed the stoep area and fire pit where we spent most of the time during our 3 night sleep over.I definite must if you want to be in the middle of nowhere and enjoy peace and quiet from the mad rush in the city."
