Nestled in the Winterhoek mountains of the Eastern Cape, Haaspoort Bushcamp Private Nature reserve captures the serenity and beauty of the Karoo. The Bushcamp is situated on a 2000-hectare malaria-free private nature reserve, home to a large variety of wildlife and rare flora. The four private thatched en-suite chalets complete with timber decks overlooking the river, offer you all the privacy and comfort you need for a relaxing African safari. We offer self-catering or full board.
* For self-catering you will have the exclusive use of Haaspoort Bushcamp (entire lodge) at a base rate of R4000 per night.
* Our full board rate of R1750 per person per night sharing includes dinner, bed and breakfast.

There are 4 thatched en-suite chalets. A lapa which consists of the bar and dining area is situated close to the swimming pool and our newly renovated, fully equipped self-catering kitchen is adjacent to the lapa. The lodge is serviced daily by our dedicated staff. All you need to bring is your food, beverages and swimming towels. Braai wood is for sale. Perfect for a group getaway or special occasion or relaxing with friends and family in a peaceful and tranquil environment. All chalets have en-suite bathrooms, ceiling fans, heaters and tea/coffee facilities. Each chalet is individually decorated, with twin or king size beds made up in 100% percale linen. Hosts, Victor and Lindsay Watson are the owners of Haaspoort Bushcamp. Victor is the fifth generation owner of the property and takes pride in conserving the land and its animals. Lindsay, who also grew up in the area, has a passion for people and will ensure that guests experience true Karoo hospitality.

In the savannah bushveld that borders the Karoo, just 140km from Port Elizabeth, lies Haaspoort Bushcamp in a private nature reserve. Here you can walk, cycle or self-drive in the company of zebras, blesbok andklipspringers. The roads are scenic and offer views of the charismatic Cockscomb Mountain. There are bird hides and day trails that lead you to pretty pools of water or Black Eagle nests. The accommodation is four-star, very good value, and perfect for a small group. There are two twin rooms, a honeymoon suite and a spacious family room. Even though this is a self-catering destination, you can opt to have a special game drive breakfast or an afternoon game drive. There's a small swimming pool for the hot months, and even a 'star deck'.

"We wanted a place where we could relax in private with no pressure to do / drive / communicate with anything but nature and this was it ... we spent two nights there between Christmas and New Year. The service levels are excellent ... the complementary roosterkoek was delicious and the chalet was very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The monkeys are non-invasive, the bird life is plenty and the buck are comfortable grazing on the surrounding hills. We would go back again and would request Chalet No 4 being the most private & spacious chalet for a couple. (I loved the outdoor shower)"
