Earth Skin Lodge

Earth Skin Lodge combines nature and comfort to provide a personal experience in exclusive self-catering accommodation in the African bush. The lodge is located on the River Farm, a private game farm near Hoedspruit in the Limpopo Province of South Africa.

The lodge is situated in a lush natural garden that extends seamlessly into the natural bushveld of the farm. The River Farm takes its name from the Sand River, which snakes through the farm and sustains the farm's many natural inhabitants, ranging from the distinctive African tok-tokkie beetle to the colourful and abundant birdlife, from the mischievous vervet monkey to the ever-alert impala and the graceful giraffe.

The lodge exhibits nature throughout, with building materials drawn from nature and its design inspired by it. The effect is that the lodge fits in with the surrounding landscape to such an extent that it appears to have grown up out of it, and the lodge serves as natural shelter from which to experience these surroundings. Earth Skin Lodge offers the option of a self-contained suite or a fully-equipped house from which to enjoy the inspirational design and the comforts of home in the natural environment of the African bush.
