Die Blouhuis is a self-catering farmhouse conveniently set between the towns of Swellendam and Bredasdorp. Offering you the opportunity to explore a wide range of tourist must-sees, including the Breederiver Wine Route.
The farmhouse has no electricity, which make it a remarkable experience and very romantic. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a gas stove&oven and a gas fridge&freezer. There are two solar geysers to ensure everyone gets a hot bath.
The Blouhuis can accommodate up to five guests in two bedrooms. Bedding and towels are provided. There are two bathrooms as well as another separate toilet. Features include a slipper bath and an additional outdoor shower. There is an indoor fireplace as well as an outdoor bonfire.
The house is very private, and is a quiet getaway for nature lovers. Guests can feel free to bring their hiking gear or mountain bikes to explore the farm and the area.

"We had an amazing stay at Die Blouhuisie over Easter. It was wonderful to switch of (literally, with no power) our devices and enjoy the peace and quite on the farm. The house has everything you need and more: solar geysers, gas fridge and stove. The bathrooms have been newly renovated and are stunning! The bath has a beautiful view over the wheat fields and the mountains."

"This rustic yet comfortable standalone farmhouse harks back back to a simpler, more authentic era. Candlelight and lanterns replace electric lights (although some rechargeable ones are provided) and gas powers the stove and fridge while solar heats the bathwater. If you want to get away from it all and rediscover your essence that's been swamped by technological clamor for too long, this is the breakaway place for you."

"We went to the Blouhuis to get away from city noise, Barking dogs, car street sounds, and stress of hectic life in the city. We found wide open spaces, silent nights in black ink rooms and back to basics living where it was inevitable that you came away calmed. There were birds aplenty to discover and fields of wheat to gaze across. We had a restful and simple time. De Hoop was closely and the route home via Bredasdorp was a fun alternative to the N2."
