Daskop

Daskop is a game and guest farm situated on 700 hectares in a very unique part of South Africa. Daskop is essentially a venison farm yet still boast with 14 species of game, birds and lots of flora. The farm is situated just outside Ficksburg in the Eastern Free State, between the slopes of the beautiful Imperani Mountain and the western banks of the Caledon River.

Characteristic of this area are the vast stretches of wheat fields which in summer form a golden belt, and the unparalleled beauty of the cherry orchards in bloom during early September.

The guest lodge provides luxury accommodation in five en-suite bedrooms. The bedrooms have single, double or king-size beds and en-suite bathrooms. All rooms have a complimentary tea and coffee stations and safes and a daily laundry service is available. The guest house consists of a large double volume living area, fully equipped kitchen and outside braai facilities. There is also an honesty bar, swimming pool and beautiful garden.

The lodge is perfectly suited for group bookings such as families, groups of friends, hikers, cyclists or horse riders. Ideally groups should be between six and 16, bearing in mind that reasonable sized group are not only cost effective but more enjoyable with what we have to offer. Daskop is the ideal place for a weekend get-away, the wildlife enthusiast, bird watchers, nature lovers, hikers, horse riders, runners, photographers and mountain bikers. The farm boasts plains, mountains and bush, which makes the farm very special and unique. The large numbers of animals are very easily spotted all year round. The varied topography has enabled us to mark out four different mountain bike routes, each graded according to their level of difficulty. These same routes are available to horse riders and hikers alike.

As we are self-catering, Ficksburg is 15km away, we have a vegetable garden on the farm and our venison products can be purchased direct from us also.
