The Cape Cottages are situated in the centre of the village of McGregor, a short walk from restaurants and shops. The cottages are romantic, self-catering Cape Georgian-style cottages set in beautiful gardens with mountain views - simply perfect for two.
The accommodation is tastefully decorated and beautifully furnished. Each cottage has a luxurious bedroom with a queen-size bed and an overhead fan, percale linen, fluffy towels and an extra blanket. The sandstone-tiled living areas have leather couches and cosy fireplaces. The bathrooms are gorgeous with a sandstone design.
The fully equipped Oregon kitchenettes with small fridges, built-in two-plate stainless steel hobs, kettles, toasters and microwave ovens. Tea, rooibos, coffee, milk and sugar are provided in the cottages. The vine-covered patios are private with seating and Weber braais, overlooking the lush, rose-filled gardens with views to the mountains.
McGregor is a quaint mid-19th century village in the Valley of Wine and Roses, just off Route 62 in the Western Cape on a 'road to nowhere'. McGregor is less than two hours from Cape Town and 15 minutes from Robertson along a tarred road which meanders past farms, orchards and vineyards, and is home to several local wine farms, Rhebokskraal Olive Estate, Temenos Retreat and a Donkey Sanctuary.
Wine tasting, birdwatching, walking, hiking, cycling and scenic drives are popular pastimes in McGregor - you can even learn how to build your own cob house. But if peace, tranquillity and a sense of timelessness are what you are looking for, McGregor's the place for you.
