A mere four hours drive from Johannesburg and two hours drive from Durban, deep in the heart of the breathtaking Natal Midlands, rests Bellwood Cottages. With seven comfortable, fully-equipped self-catering cottages, a family cottage accommodating six people, a secluded honeymoon cottage and five cottages on the dam comprising four to five private double rooms each, accommodating at least eight to 10 people, with space for many more in cosy lofts.
Bellwood represents the best you can find in personal farm service, tea, coffee, sugar, soaps and shampoo. All the cottages have fireplaces, bedding, electric blankets, a fridge, stove and microwave oven, a TV and braai/barbecue facilities. The cottages are located on a 585-acre stud farm with some of the most impressive walks and wide-open spaces that KwaZulu Natal has to offer.
Children are welcome. Farm life provides considerable entertainment with an abundance of farmyard animals and goings-on to keep them out of mischief. A two and a half kilometer ramble brings you to the quaint village of Nottingham Road, which forms a central part of the famous arts and crafts Midlands Meander and has some of the oldest pubs in the province. For those with a sporting inclination, tennis and golfing facilities can be pre-arranged.
