For the avid birdwatcher, there over 300 bird species are found in the area including the Black stork, Bald ibis, Bearded and Cape vultures, Black eagle, Jackal buzzard, Black harrier, Orange breasted Rockjumper, Drakensberg siskin, the Blue, Crowned and Wattled Cranes and Denhams bustard.
