Parys is presently facing huge challenges with additional rotational load shedding and non drinkable water, when available. We on the other hand are connected direct to Eskom, ( only national load shedding applies ), and have our own supply of sparkling clean drinkable water 24/7.
African Olive Country Estate, a SELF-CATERING establishment, is conveniently located a mere 1 km from Parys on a tarred road, close enough to pop in and out of town and far enough to be in the country. African Olive Country Estate is ideal for those who want to escape the rat race but still enjoy the comforts of all the fine dining and shopping close at hand.
African Olive Country Estate, located at the gateway to the Dome Land World Heritage Site, provides luxury, self-catering accommodation for discerning guests in the form of well-appointed luxury cottages and studio apartments. All accommodation overlooks the farm and a century-old water channel from the Vaal River. The units are air-conditioned and stylishly appointed with cotton linen, antique furniture, Persian carpets, original artwork and complimentary sherry for that well-earned night cap. The luxury cottages also boast a large fireplace that provides the best ambiance for those chilly, romantic, winter evenings. Each unit, other than the Twin Unit, has a TV and dish connected to OPEN VIEW however you can bring along your own decoder with card and remote to plug into our system hardware and TV.

"The cottage had all we needed and the beautiful paintings, carpets and furniture were a bonus. Fabulous bathroom big enough to dance in! Loved the beautiful view with entertaining goats, duikers and even a mongoose. Very peaceful and a great place to unwind. Convenient to the town (a short drive). I was disappointed that I couldn't find the swimming pool (there was a lovely picture of it on the web site and the day we arrived was really hot). Otherwise a great place to stay."

"What a charming spot a stone's throw from the Vaal River (and there is a canal running through the property that arise from the River).A small-holding with goats, a male ostrich, an adorable tame Duiker (antelope)( I think it is) and umbrellas of deciduous trees. The farm yard is closed off from the accommodation, so don't fear being trampled by amusing goats or a too friendly ostrich.My best recommendation ever, is to say I would go back if in the area - I would.Oh, and - the host was most hospitable and a great conversationalist.Thanks"
