Overview
At Timbavati, conveniently located just 22 km from the Kruger National Park's Orpen Gate, we believe in creature comforts and do our utmost to ensure that you, as our guest and friend, enjoy a stay that's as memorable for comfort as it is for tranquility.

Timbavati Safari Lodges offers a selection of chalets and rondavels painted with unique Ndebele traditional artwork, all with en-suite bathrooms and fitted with mosquito nets. The rondavels and chalets, set amidst beautiful shady trees, have been designed and situated to convey an atmosphere of happy relaxation and peacefulness in a true African ambience.

Most rooms feature double or twin beds, with some rooms offering additional third and fourth beds. Some of the chalets rooms are also connected through inter-leading doors to allow for families and guests that would prefer to be close to one another.

Timbavati Safari Lodge is nestled among glades of mature, exquisite indigenous trees, home to a variety of birds. Guests share the lodge area with the local inhabitants including bush babies, giraffe, impala, wildebeest, bushbuck, duiker, and warthog who graze on the lush green grass and can regularly be viewed from the verandahs of the rooms.

"Nice location, not so comfortable accommodation"

"The location of this lodge was great if travelling to Kruger National Park, but the chalets get so hot on the inside! My husband and I had a terrible night, although we had the fan on at its highest speed. The space was way too warm and to make matters worse, our mosquito nets had holes in them and we had a mosquito swarming around us in this malaria zone! Dinner was good and we enjoyed the beef fillet, but there were no options for dessert besides the tiramisu. No one from our group drinks alcohol and we therefore had to pass on this alcoholic dessert option, with nothing else to choose from. Breakfast was average, with limited options."

"HiWe enjoyed our short stay Timbavati the place was ok, friendly reception from Rob.The bar lady might do with some assistance as she has to take orders and serve drinks during dinner, a waiter to assist her would speed up the she serves drinks to all the guests. The lodge is unfortunately located next to a village which spoilt our african bush experience loud music from nearby church and singing till late. Not sure how why will be addressed."
"Hidden costs"

"Clean and friendly staff. The unfortunate part is that there were hidden costs. Upon arrival we were told that we qualify for a game drive because we booked for 3 (three nights) and we went for that drive the next day. On departure we were surprised to see the cost of a game drive for two which is (R450.00 ea), R900.00 in total included in the invoice. We never questioned anyone and just paid."
