"Peaceful Oasis"
23 Apr 2015
By Chris, Australia
"Other then the Big Hole, staying in the club for a night was the highlight of our trip to Kimberley. Certainly got a sense of the history concerning building. The rooms were excellent, likewise the staff while the dinner and breakfast was also appreciated given the lack of alternatives in town. Bearing in mind what transpired at UCT, you can also see a bust of Cecil Rhodes if need be."

"We stayed in a luxury room which was far from luxury the carpets, curtains sofa's and soft furnishings where all badly stained, hairdryer not working, stained sheets which when replaced didn't fit the bed, torn pillowcases, along with the overall appearance of the room was well below the standard of a supposedly ''boutique hotel''.The only redeeming factors where the public rooms, the staff and the history of the place.Very disappointing stay and not worth the prices charged."
"Great ambience and room"

"The Olde Worlde charm is a strong attraction, as are the wonderful courtyard rooms, which are spacious, comfortable and very well provided for in the way of facilities. The staff are also extremely pleasant and helpful. The downside was a breakfast that had sat for hours - can't a hotel of this standard cook things like eggs freshly?"

"The history, the rooms, the ambiance and the service. Don't stay anywhere else in Kimberley. We were a party of 6 we spent hours looking at the painting's, etc. The bar is a great place to have drinks."

"The place is oozing history. Quite memorable to have a G&T in the same bar where Cecil John Rhodes planned the colonial expansion up to the North. From now on my favourite stayover place in Kimberley, so much more character in comparison to a "normal" hotel. Good food, good service, great ambience."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Kimberley Club. It is so rich with history and we were really impressed with all the artwork that was so well preserved. The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed the food at the restaurant. Remember to order the Starter Platter... oxtail spring rolls!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Kimberley Club Hotel - the staff and service were of exceptional standard, and the rooms very comfortable. Restaurant Staff were especially friendly and efficient, and thanks to the Manager, Linda for her time and friendliness. We'll be back."
"Olde Worlde full of history"

"A stay for a night is a must if you find yourself in Kimberley. The hotel is so full of history and charm, with pictures of the old days and Chaps that have been part of its history. The room was huge, with two double beds and a huge bath and even bigger shower. The room was set up for only 2 people and as we were a family of 3 we rang down to reception to get more towels, glasses etc, within minutes the lovely friendly housekeeper arrived with all our requests. Whilst we had a room over looking the road, it didnt keep us awake.A nice gin and tonic was poured in the Members Bar, there is a smoking and non smoking area, although at the time of our visit we were the only people in the bar. You can sit back in the large leather seats and think about some of the conversations that have taken place here.We chose to have a meal here. The food and service was amazing and very good in price. We congratulated the Chef who came out to see us. Breakfast was fine. Parking is free across the road.Would highly recommend and would use again if I found myself in the area."
