Shifting Sands Lodge is a luxury self-catering cottage with its own entrance, private garden and small splash pool. The cottage is situated in Hout Bay, on a two-acre smallholding which is home to the owners, their five horses and five dogs. The cottage has two spacious bedrooms; one with two extra-long single beds, built-in cupboards and bedside pedestals. The other bedroom has a queen-size bed, built-in cupboards with a dressing table and mirror, and bedside pedestals and lamps. The luxury bathroom has a large bath, shower, toilet, basin and mirror. It opens onto the comfortable open-plan lounge and dining area. There is a lounge suite, television with full DStv access and a four-seater dining table. The living area opens through double glass sliding doors onto the patio which features a splash pool, garden with outdoor furniture and a braai area. This area is sheltered by wooden fences making it very private.

"My boyfriend and I were looking for a little getaway spot for our anniversary. We found out about Shifting Sands Lodge and I made a reservation. We found the place easily. The owner was very welcoming. She showed us to our little nest and left us to be. We really enjoyed the peace and the view. We felt like we were at some far away holiday resort. We just want to thank the owners for the great hospitality we experienced. I have recommended the location to all my friends. We will definitely be back soon."
"A few touches and it would be great"

"Nice location and privacy but I think the decor and overall care and maintenance (garden not tended, things left lying around) let it down. With a bit more effort could be great."

"This is an amazing place to come and stay to explore the Cape, or just lay in and do as little as possible. It is wonderfully private and the little slash pool is perfect to cool down on a hot summer's day. Thank you Lee for a wonderful time and all the small details you paid attention to. We will certainly be back."
