Overview
Phumuza means "take a break" in Zulu and that is exactly what we would like you to do. The bush lodge is a 10-minute drive from the town of Bela Bela, which provides a good selection of shops, restaurants, Aventura Hot Springs Resort, an African market, and much more.

All of our chalets and log cabins are self-catering with fully equipped kitchens, each with a gas cooker, fridge with freezer, and barbecue facilities. Crockery, cutlery and linen are supplied, so all you need to bring is your towels and dishcloths. In addition, bush camping and caravan sites are available.

The emphasis at Phumuza is on relaxation. We offer 100 acres of diverse indigenous bushveld, prolific bird life and small game, and there is a quaint lookout tower which provides an awesome view of a natural rock pool - ideal for a romantic picnic with picnic baskets available on request. The terrain is fairly flat with interesting walks on well set out paths.

Cool off in our refreshing pool after conquering the bush trails or watch the sun's tranquil and serene farewell at the end of the day while relaxing around the natural rock pool or rise early to welcome its enchanting return at Leopards Rock, named after the sighting of a female leopard and her two cubs. We also offer night walks as well as bush breakfasts.

"The place is conveniently located for someone who needs to take a break from hectic city life. Very quiet and and private. I will visit again."

"We stayed at Troupant, a lovely setting for two, ideal to allow us time. The birds in the morning and sighting of some wildlife in the afternoon really made the stay worthwhile."

"Firstly, we were not welcomed warmly but had a rude reception. Secondly, the power went out and we had no water. According to the reception, the whole of warmbaths had the same problem which was a lie because we found out the next day, that there had not been any problems with electricity in Warmbaths. We cancelled our second evening and left early the next morning."

"The place is very dirty , no customer service. When we left the unit the year didn't come to inspect the unit with us only after I called them 2days later enquiring about the deposit I was told that we broke a lamp and side table which I asked for pictures of and I still haven't received. We were also told that we needed to leave the place spotless clean , bed made up , dishes cleaned and floor mopped. Which makes me wonder do they even change the linen for the next guests and what kind of lodge is this ????"
"No comment because we could not make it to the lodge."

"I have no comment because I had to call Sharon and cancel our booking because our daughter was sick this past weekend. Sharon advised that there will be no refund but that I can just call her whenever I am ready to go there again in the future. She advised that I do not have to call SafariNow but her directly. She was very understanding about my situation and very accommodating. Kind regards, Dr Millie MOHOHLO"

"We really enjoyed our stay at Phumuza. We stayed in one of the smaller chalets close to reception and absolutely enjoyed the outdoor shower and outdoor cooking facilities - it made the bush experience exciting. The chalet was well-equipped and our hosts were friendly and accommodating, even bringing additional blankets for our small child. There are excellent opportunities for birdwatching and walking through the bush. However, I was disappointed that, while bush walks at night and a jacuzzi were advertised, the former was no longer being done and the Jacuzzi was not working. There was also no signage at the gate to indicate that you have arrived at Phumuza - we drove right past it and had to ask directions on private property.Regardless, I would recommend staying here: it offers everything you need for relaxation and is also the ideal stopover for visiting Warmbaths, which is just 10 minutes' drive down the road. This is the ideal bush experience: no television, swimming pool, outdoor cooking, a private braai and eating area, and an outdoor shower!"
