Overview
Markon River Lodge is only one hours drive from Johannesburg. We offer a wide variety of accommodation options with fun filled leisure activities for couples, families or groups of people.

For the 4 x 4 enthusiast, we suggest our Bush Camp with spectacular river views and tranquility. Located on 6 km of unspoiled waters of the Wilge River, Luiperdskloof is set in the undiscovered wilderness of Eastern Gauteng, only one hour from Pretoria and OR Tambo International Airport.

We offer self-catering for both families and romantic couples. We have conference facilities with accommodation for 80 delegates. We guarantee exclusivity by offering you private lapas, dining- and bar areas. Markon River Lodge is also a great team building venue and offers in-house team building activities. We are well known as a great wedding venue and offer special accommodation rates to encourage your guests to sleep over and enjoy your special day until the early hours of the morning.

Luiperdskloof proves to be a unique ecological environment, teeming with wildlife. It is situated on the perennial Wilge River, which feeds the Loskop Dam and meanders along 6 km of riverfront, opening into large tranquil pools and fast flowing rapids along majestic cliff faces. The park is fully fenced with 2.4 m game fencing. The landscape varies from large grassy plains, hills, rock formations and cliff faces with beautiful scenery.

The following game species can be seen in the park; aardwolf, aardvark, baboon, brown hyena, caracul, jackal, grey duiker, impala, klipspringer, mountain reedbuck, steenbuck, vervet monkey, warthog, kudu, blesbuck, blue wildebeest, waterbuck, eland, red hartebeest, springbuck and zebra. Enjoy a one-of-a-kind at Luiperdskloof.

"Beautiful Property"

"We booked the Kingfisher room. It was just enough for us.It is unfortunate that due to the blooding in this area, there was a lot of damage. This place needs a lot of TLC. Due to this there wasn't much to do. The game drive vehicle was not operational. The staff however were very attentive and tried to assist as far as they could."

"Hi the tree lodges was great , just a putty there is no stove or oven there , just a 1plate thing to prepair your meals and not a lot of counter spaces. Staff was very friendly and willing to help you."

"Relaxing spot on the river, close to JHB"

"We stayed for 2 nights at the river camp at Luiperdskloof in order to arrive at the nearby Ezemvelo for a mountain bike race. The accommodation was adequate but far from charming. The best feature being the view.Unfortunately, we were surrounded by a large group with crying kids but this didn't affect the experience. The place looks a little tired - the pool table, putt putt and table tennis look old and some of the fittings in the rooms could be modernised somewhat. That said, the walk to the "Pinnacle" is magnificent and the accommodation is probably the best you will find in the area. All in all a really pleasant place for a weekend break - next time will book the tree lodge which looks great!"
