"Beautiful cottage"

"The place was amazing, loved every minute of being there and was so sad to leave. The only thing i can recommend is to have a few more carpets inside as it was extremely cold when arriving there. Not knowing the weather it would have been nice if a gesture was made to have fire started inside to warm the cottage before our arrival as we were freezing. LOL. However our experience was fantastic and we cant wait to come again."

"We loved the cottage, it is cosy, but with a feeling of space. It also has character! It is situated in a beautiful setting with an incredible view not far away at the edge of the property. The only complaint I have is the stove and microwave are a little high for short people., but I will still love to come again!"
"Very cozy cottage!"

"Everything was great. Just the process of collecting/ dropping keys can be improved (struggled to get hold of caretakers upon arrival and departure)."

"Unfortunately my stay at Lothlorien Cottage was not that good. 1. There was a mess up with where and how we could get the key as we were on a touring holiday and did not receive the email from the owner. 2. I had a nasty experience with a Vervet Monkey upon arrival. It entered the cottage from the top window which was left open by the caretaker. It was sitting on the top railing and urinated on me. That freaked me out completely as I have been attacked and seriously injured by a Vervet Monkey in 2012.3. The bedding was not clean - we felt as if someone slept in it before us.4. The total cottage are in bad state of repair. The roof seems to leak as some of the furniture felt wet. 5. There fell worm like things from the roof onto the working area in the kitchen.6. The bathroom was full of nasty spiders and the shower missed some tiles.7. Some of the tiles on the kitchen's working area are broken.8. The place is very dark and smells musty and to worsen it all, from the 8 lights in the living area, 4 were out.9. We wanted to have a braai, but the braai area is so dilapidated and filthy that we opted not to use it at all.10. Upon arrival your first impression is a rusted overfull dustbin with some rubbish lying around it and you have to cross a huge pool of mud to get to the cottage. If needed I will supply you with photos of all of the above."

"More carpets should be put down as the floors are really cold. Also the bedding needs to be washed on a regular basis as do the floors. The floors were filthy dirty. Cutlery and crockery also needs to get washed on a regular basis, lots of stuff was full of cob webs and dusty."

"The trailrun"

"There were only 5 towels, instead of 6. There was only one plug in the kitchen for two sinks. The caretakers servive was very good. The cutlery can improve. I missed a salad bowl, a wooden spoon and better glasses. The thatch roof gave the kids that slept upstairs a bad allergic reaction. We wanted to sit outside, but the table at the braai area is very run down and needs atttention. There was only three beach chairs to sit on outside."

"A lovely secluded cottage with all the amenities you need for self catering purposes. Well maintained and clean. Close enough to Hogsback main street and a perfect base from which to explore the area with all its waterfalls and hiking trails. Will definitely make use of this venue again."
