"This hotel is situated so idyllically but is more than tired. The reception tells you all. It is unfriendly and very basic. The staff wave you into the general direction of your room without an offer to help with your luggage. The room was dark and smelly, the towels were threadbare and the sheets had long lost their crispness. Breakfast was okay but nothing special. A wimpy breakfast would have been better. How long is this Hotel going to rely on a reputation from long ago before it realizes that it needs an upgrade or to be totally demolished?"

"Linen was filthy. Wanted to stay for 2 days but nobody confirmed and then booked at another place. Just as well. Outside room at door filthy - cigarette butts and general weeds.
Walls in romm covered with what looks like coffee spray. Wash basin broken, shower door broken, no aircon. Reception only 1 person on duty to do bookings and general reception work. Ronnie at reception very helpful but will never stay there again."

"The Halyards was so enjoyable that we stayed an extra day!!!! Lovely, comfortable rooms & a great pool area overlooking the Marina. The food was delicious & all the staff very friendly. We will definitely visit again."
