Overview
Along the road less travelled and nestled in the southern tip of the Drakensberg, lies the quaint village of Rhodes. It is easy to fall in love with the charm and tranquillity of a village that has been declared a National Heritage Site. With its 85 odd buildings including the post office, library and church, one is transported back in time.

Dog's Folly is conveniently situated on the main gravel road, Muller Street, and opposite the Rhodes Hotel. With its wooden flooring, original doors and sash windows, you relive the old-world charm combined with the comfort of modern luxuries.

The house has four beautiful bedrooms, each fitted with electric blankets. Warm blankets are stored in a blanket box at the foot of each bed, whilst quilts provide a cover for those slightly chilly nights. Panel heaters are installed throughout to take the edge off during snow-filled winters.

In the lounge area, the original fireplace stands proud and is a reminder of how many a folk have warmed up in its presence. A DStv bouquet with 10 channels is available. The dining room seats eight guests comfortably and the kitchen is fully equipped. The house is serviced daily and laundry can be done at a small fee.

"Dog's Folly was warm and cosy. Very nice. The lady that came in every day was great. The fan in the bathrooms are very cold. A bit cold after a nice hot shower. And we could not get the oven to work because we didn't know how to use it. (Instructions would help)"

"What an awesome stay in this Old world charm village. Dogs Folly had everything we needed and more. Fully equipped and the best of all was the 3 bathrooms ! The showers were the absolute best. Hot hot water enough for us 5 to defrost after cold days at Tiffindell ! The fireplace was magical with wood stocked up on arrival as well as a refill the next day ! Beds super comfy with electric blankets in all rooms. Highly recommended !! Loved our stay. Thank you !!"

"The town of Rhodes is very quaint and we had a lovely time meeting the friendly people there. One warning: the house was absolutely freezing when we arrived and did not warm up at all. We could see our breath inside the house! Luckily the beds were toasty with mattress heaters. Otherwise we would of frozen to death."
