Overview
Clifton Country Manor is a 238-year-old farm nestling in the foothills of the Sneeuberg mountains. Originally known as Klipfontein, dating back to 1774, and primarily used for stock farming, the recent sale to Jacques and Sonja Hartzenberg will see the property developed into a world-class private game reserve and three adjacent properties have already been added.

Owners Jacques and Sonja, who have been in the tourism industry since 1996, are busy reintroducing game and will be relocating rare species from their Kalahari reserve such as Cape buffalo, sable antelope, roan and Cape zebra to mention a few.

Hospitality is a vintage 21st century and accommodation boasts a luxurious 4 Star grading. Each en-suite bedrooms is air-conditioned and individually decorated. With personal comfort as a priority, features include log fires and underfloor heating for the cold Karoo winter evenings, and a sparkling pool for those hot summers. We also offer fine dining, with the best South African wines served with gourmet meals, including Karoo lamb and venison. A full breakfast is also served to last guests all day.

In addition, Clifton offers conference facilities with a 150-seating capacity. Ideal for a perfect romantic wedding or private functions, the venue boasts beautiful views and a relaxing atmosphere along the banks of the Sundays River.
